Why did you start this blog?

I enjoy sharing my portraits with clients and future clients. When my twins were born, I really wanted to create something unique and different for their portraits. In creating unique portraits, I realized that I wanted to share my talents and create wonderful works of art for other families.

Why did you start your business?

I have a passion for creating artistic creations. Burt Designs was created in 1998 as a graphic and web design freelance business. It has expanded to include wedding and family (including maternity, newborn, children and teens) photography. So, in 2002, Burt Designs began creating personalized, heirloom portraits for families and weddings. I have enjoyed watching families grow!

What makes you different than other similar businesses in your community?

Not only do I have a degree in Printing Production and Imaging Technology, I am also a wife and mother to three little ones. My training prepared me for the technical aspect and my personal life keeps me on my toes when it comes to creativity. Life is unpredictable and capturing unique and soulful portrait takes time and skill. My portraits (both family and weddings) evoke emotion. I enjoy every aspect of being a photographer and am blessed to offer my services to my clients. These few points set me apart from my competition.

What do you like most about your community?

Our community is a close knit group of people. I grew up in Marietta and have watched it grow. I enjoy giving back to the community with my time and talent. Last year, I participated in a wonderful program call the Heart Project benefiting Sibley Heart Center at Children’s. The families that were involved were so brave and inspirational.
